The iPad 9th Gen features a sleek aluminum build with a 10.2-inch display. It measures 9.8 inches in height, 6.8 inches in width, and is only 0.29 inches thick, making it lightweight and portable. The Wi-Fi + Cellular model weighs 1.09 pounds, slightly heavier than the Wi-Fi-only variant due to additional components for cellular functionality. With its classic design, the iPad 9th Gen retains the Home button with Touch ID for secure and easy access.

Display

The 10.2-inch Retina display offers a sharp resolution of 2160 x 1620 pixels at 264 pixels per inch (ppi), delivering vibrant visuals and excellent color accuracy. True Tone technology adjusts the display’s color temperature according to ambient light, providing a comfortable viewing experience in various lighting conditions. With 500 nits of brightness and a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, the display maintains clarity and ease of use.

Camera

The iPad 9th Gen is equipped with an 8MP Wide rear camera with an f/2.4 aperture, allowing for crisp photos with 5x digital zoom. It supports features like HDR, auto image stabilization, and panorama mode, making it suitable for everyday photography. The 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with a 122° field of view and Center Stage technology is ideal for video calls, as it dynamically adjusts to keep users centered in the frame.

Performance

Powered by the A13 Bionic chip with a Neural Engine, the iPad 9th Gen delivers smooth performance across a variety of tasks, from multitasking to running graphics-intensive applications. This processor, initially introduced in the iPhone 11 series, ensures responsive performance for both daily activities and gaming, along with efficient battery management.

Battery and Charging

With an all-day battery life, the iPad 9th Gen can handle up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi or video playback. For cellular browsing, the battery life slightly decreases to about 9 hours. It charges via the included 20W USB-C power adapter and a Lightning to USB-C cable.

Software

Running iPadOS, this iPad offers a smooth user experience with features tailored for the larger display. The iPadOS ecosystem supports multitasking, app split-view, and offers a range of productivity and creative apps.
